The World Bank announced a new gender strategy on Thursday aimed at increasing women’s economic opportunities and enabling them to participate in the global economy through social protection and access to broadband and capital.
this Gender Strategy 2024-2030The plan, unveiled at the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Washington, sets a goal of giving 300 million women access to broadband internet, unlocking basic services, financial services, education and employment opportunities by 2030. It also aims to support 250 million women through social protection programs targeting the poorest and most vulnerable, and provide capital to an additional 80 million women and women-led businesses, addressing constraints to entrepreneurial development.
