Trump VP pick JD Vance urges Peter Thiel to back campaign: report | Real Time Headlines

Donald Trumppresidential running mate JD Vance Silicon Valley billionaires are being urged Peter Thiel Vance told media to “get off the sidelines” and financially support Republican votes financial times.

Representatives for Thiel did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment on Vance’s remarks. The Trump campaign has been contacted for additional comment.

PayPal and Palantir co-founder Thiel provided $1.25 million in support of Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. Six years later, he spent $15 million to support Vance’s success senate bid.

Early in his career, Vance worked Thiel co-founded venture capital firm Mithril Capital.

Thiel said in June that he would not make any further moves this cycle. Trump’s super PAC. But he said if he had to choose a candidate, he would ultimately support Trump over then-Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

“If you put a gun to my head, I would vote for Trump,” Thiel said at the Aspen Ideas Festival.
