A doctor at the rally told NBC News that he was sitting in the stands when he witnessed one person in the crowd die. He said he saw the man shot from behind, fall from the stands and appear to have died at the scene. He said he helped officers carry the man out of the rally.
As Secret Service agents rushed Trump off the stage, the former president stood and pumped his fist in the air for several seconds.
