The Trump Organization announced a new ethics plan on Friday that it said would constrain the president-elect Donald TrumpParticipate in management decisions and other aspects of the business while in the White House.
Trump will also have limited access to the company’s financial information and will only receive “general business updates,” according to a five-page ethics plan white paper shared with CNBC.
The firm said the incoming president’s investments “will be independently managed by outside financial institutions” and that those institutions will not accept his opinion on specific holdings or transactions.
The company also announced it has appointed attorney William Burck as its new outside ethics counsel.
Eric Trump, executive vice president of the Trump Organization, said in a separate release: “Throughout my father’s presidency, the Trump Organization was committed to not only meeting but going far beyond its legal and ethical obligations.”
