LinkedIn releases seventh annual report List of top startups in Indiawhich showcases the country’s emerging companies based on data from professional social networking sites.
The report comes amid a boom in entrepreneurship. In fact, India has the third largest startup ecosystem in the world, according to the official government website indian startups.
A report in August stated: “As of 2022, the number of unicorns in India will be second only to the United States and will surpass China in 2020.” Report Published by the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore.
In addition, the report pointed out that the number of new startups in India increased from about 20,000 in 2021 to more than 34,000 in 2023, an increase of 71.5%.
The list is compiled from data collected by LinkedIn over a year, which tracks job growth, engagement, job interest and attraction of top talent. Only companies headquartered in India, fully independent, private, with 50 or more full-time employees and established for a maximum of 5 years will be considered.

This year, “most of the startups in the top 10 are in the software and technology space, which shows the dominance of this space,” said Nirajita Banerjee, editorial director and career expert at LinkedIn India. CNBC SuccessZepto, Sprinto and Lucidity are among the top three.

Additionally, four of this year’s top 10 startups are headquartered in Bengaluru, reinforcing the city’s position as a global hub for startups.
Banerjee added: “While Bengaluru remains the ‘Silicon Valley’ of India… we are seeing diversification with start-ups emerging in Tier II cities like Indore and Pune.”
