Lester Holt, host and executive editor of NBC Nightly News for a decade, announced that he will resign from long-term broadcasts in the early summer.
Holt will continue to be a fixture for the network for full-time positions in “Dateline”, serving as the leading host for nearly 15 years in “Dateline.”
NBC News didn’t immediately name Holt’s successor.
Holt was named the host of “Night News” in June 2015, after eight years of news broadcasting the News broadcast and jointly anchored “Today’s Weekend” for 12 years. He has been the main host of “Dateline” since September 2011.
