Elon Musk-led government efficiency department has cut about three out of seven in the U.S. automotive safety agency division to oversee the safety of self-driving cars, The Washington Post Report Thursday.

The report said workers fired by the agency led by Tesla’s CEO said they did not consider themselves targeting because they were inspecting driverless cars.

According to the Washington Post, cuts in the autonomous vehicle safety sector are part of a reduction in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which lost about 10% of its labor through shooting and acquisition offers.
