Nicole Kidman is everywhere these days.
In 2024 alone, the Academy Award-winning actress will star in three movies and three TV series. The 57-year-old has released a movie or series every year since 2000, during which time she has amassed nearly 60 IMDb points.
For Kidman, steady work meant more than just seeing herself on screen: She realized her star power had the power to create work for others.
“For me, it was, ‘Well, I just want to take care of myself,’ because I care so much about taking care of other people,” Kidman told Variety earlier this year.
“I thought, ‘I can create more jobs for people. I can create jobs for people,'” she continued. “And, I love it. I have a passion.”
In fact, Kidman says she often wishes she had “superpowers because I like to be everywhere.”
“This is something I’ve dreamed of since I was a kid,” she said. “I love what I do, so I give it my all, and then I don’t go out. I go home and be with my family.”
The 5-foot-11 actor said earlier this year that her height made it challenging to break into showbiz, with some people even telling her not to bother.
“I was told, ‘You’re not going to have a career because you’re too tall,'” she said at the time. “I remember auditioning for Annie. I had to talk through the door because they measure you before you go in. I was mortified that I was over the mark.”
Finding success after so much rejection helped her develop a level of resilience what she described as her “superpower”.
“I tell my daughters, ‘None of that matters. What matters is how you allow others to say yes or no to you, and whether you accept that,'” she said. “As a person, that’s really a superpower, especially of all superpowers, as a person’s inner resilience.”
