Democratic National Committee On Tuesday night, as state delegates stood to vote for the nomination, DJ Cassidy played a different song at Chicago’s United Center, boosting the already celebratory mood in the hall.
Some songs include the state’s name in their titles, including “Sweet Home Alabama” by Lynnyrd Skynyrd, beyonce‘TEXAS HOLD ‘EM’ and the B-52’s ‘Private Idaho’.
Other songs were chosen based on the artist’s hometown: Bruce Springsteen“Born in the U.S.A.” for New Jersey; Prince’s “1999” for Minnesota; Michael Jackson’s “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough” for Indiana; and chapel roanMissouri’s “Good Luck, Baby.”

When Democratic National Committee Secretary Jason Ray asked Georgia delegates how to vote, Lil Jon — an Atlanta native — emerged from the stands to cheers from the crowd.
The rapper performed his hit song “Turn Down for What,” changing the lyrics to “Turn out for what,” and led the crowd in chants of Harris’ chant: “We’re not going back.”
The roughly hour-long roll call, usually one of the most boring parts of party congresses, took social media by storm.
