Judge temporarily blocks sports streaming service Venu, ruling in favor of Fubo TV over antitrust issues | Real Time Headlines

U.S. judge temporarily blocks media companies disney, Warner Bros. Discovery and fox According to court documents, they will launch sports streaming service Venu.

A temporary injunction was granted in response to a lawsuit filed Fubo TV stationjust weeks before the start of the NFL season. The companies had planned to launch their services before that date.

The lawsuit filed by Fubo, an Internet TV bundle similar to traditional pay-TV plans, claims Venu will disrupt its business.

“We respectfully disagree with the court’s decision and are appealing,” the companies said in a joint statement on Friday.

“We believe that Fubo’s arguments are wrong on fact and law and that Fubo has failed to demonstrate that it is legally entitled to a preliminary injunction. Venu Sports is a pro-competitive alternative designed to gain access to a niche market by Enhance consumer choice.

Fubo’s share price rose 20% after news of the ban broke. Fubo representatives had no immediate comment.
