republican party vice president nominee JD Vance and Democratic candidates Tim Waltz A debate will take place in New York City on Tuesday night, their only face-to-face matchup in the 2024 election.
cbs news Hosting debatebut CNBC, NBC News and other outlets are also broadcasting the 90-minute event, which is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. ET.
The debate was moderated by “CBS Nightly News” anchor Norah O’Donnell and “Face the Nation” host Margaret Brennan.
Vance, 40, who represents Ohio in the U.S. Senate, was named the former president’s running mate Donald Trump not long ago republican national convention July.
Vice President Kamala Harrisbecame the Democratic candidate after becoming president. Joe Biden Withdrew from the election in mid-July, choosing Minnesota Governor Walz as her candidate running mate Early August.
Trump and Harris have only debated once this election cycle, on September 10.
Harris said she was willing to debate Trump again before Election Day. But so far, Republicans have ruled out that possibility.
