One innovator in the space is Arri, a well-known camera and production supplies company, which opened a groundbreaking stage outside London in 2021. The stage features a 30-meter-wide, 16K resolution screen.
“It replaces the need to work in a green screen, so the actors love the environment. They are interacting with their surroundings,” Arri production expert Robert Payton told CNBC. convergence.
Arri partnered with live event operations company Creative Technology to meet the growing demand for virtual production facilities.
“We are a show business, so we work on LED screens, which is our core market, and obviously Arri is at the forefront of the movie world,” said Connie Glover, head of creative technology at film and television companies. explain.
“So we teamed up and we both used our strengths to come up with this space,” Glover added.
Of course, virtual production is not the only innovation that disrupts filmmaking. Artificial intelligence is the root of debate within the industry, but its advocates say the technology is democratizing creativity.
