Antitrust agencies in France are investigating Microsoft Worry, it is degrading the quality of the results when smaller competitors pay to use Bing technology in their own search engine products.

“We are working fully with the investigation of automated people,” a Microsoft spokesperson said.

Bloomberg reported the investigation earlier Monday. Although Microsoft is not a major player in the general market, it is also a leader in the field of joint search engine organizations.

The Competition Authority declined to comment.

The investigation could file formal charges and fines for the U.S. tech giant.
