Taiwan Foxconn Will consider joining Nissan The president said that for cooperation, the future of Japanese automakers is pending after returning after talks with the merger Honda.

“If the cooperation requires it (buy Nissan shares), we will take it into consideration,” Foxconn chairman Young Liu told reporters during the company’s negotiations with Nissan on Wednesday.

“Buying stocks is not our goal; our goal is to cooperate,” he said. Renaultthe company owns 36% of the Japanese company.

Sources said last week that negotiations with larger rival Honda to create the world’s fourth-ranked automaker are becoming increasingly complex.

Sources said Nissan and Honda are expected to lay out a new phase in a uncertain relationship on Thursday, which is likely to see them officially canceling plans for a formal merger after negotiations between the two last week.

Frost and Sullivan say

This deal will be the latest change facing the automotive industry, facing a huge threat from China Bit and other electric vehicle entrants.

Nissan is willing to work with new partners such as Taiwan’s largest contract electronics maker and Apple’s main iPhone Maker, sources said.

Nissan and Renault declined to comment on Liu’s remarks.

While Foxconn, the world’s largest contract electronics maker, is known for its role as an Apple supplier, it also has ambitions in the electric vehicle space as it tries to diversify its business.

Liu said that Foxconn will not become a “brand” of automobiles, but will only provide commissioned design and manufacturing services.
