“I appreciate the efforts of these team members who have made the difficult choice to withdraw from the campaign, and I wish them the best in their future endeavors,” Robinson said in the statement. “I look forward to announcing new staff positions in the coming days. .
He added that he “believes our campaign remains well-positioned to make our case to voters and win on November 5.”
Robinson denied the allegations in the CNN report and vowed to remain in the race. Some Republican lawmakers expressed concern about the allegations, but the North Carolina Republican Party stressed in a statement shortly after the report that Robinson “categorically denies these allegations.”
