Former Trump campaign lawyer Jenna Ellis has agreed to cooperate with Arizona prosecutors on criminal cases against so-called “illegal immigrants.” fake votersstate Attorney General Chris Meyers announced on Monday.
In exchange, prosecutors will drop criminal charges against Ellis.
Ellis was charged with nine felonies, including fraud, forgery and conspiracy.
seventeen others are still charged in the case, which involves efforts by allies of former President Donald Trump to overturn his 2020 election loss to President Joe Biden in Arizona.
“This agreement represents an important step forward in our case,” Mays said in a statement. “I thank Ms. Ellis for her cooperation with our investigation and prosecution.”
“Her insights are invaluable and will greatly assist the state in proving its case in court,” the Attorney General said. “As I said when the original charges were announced, I will not allow American democracy to be undermined – this It’s so important. Today’s announcement is a victory for the rule of law.”
