Mayor of New York City Eric Adams Denied on Friday Trump administration The deal worked hard to make his crime corrupt case Dismissed, protesting as a senior federal prosecutor before resigning.
“I want to keep things clear with New Yorkers: I have never offered – no one on behalf of any power deals I offer as your mayor to end my case,” Adams said in a statement in his office.
“I only look at the 8.3 million New Yorkers I represent, and I will always put the city first,” the Democratic mayor said.
“Now, we have to put this difficult plot behind us so that trust can be restored, New York can move forward, and we can continue to deliver for the people of this city,” he said.
The statement comes after at least seven Justice Department prosecutors resigned in response to senior official Emil Bove, who ordered the dismissal of Adams’ case in the federal court in Manhattan.
Danielle Sassoon, acting U.S. attorney for the southern region of New York, resigned to U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi in a letter Wednesday, detailing her discussion of Bove Objection to the order.
The letter also claimed that during a January 31 meeting with Bove and her office members, Adams’ attorneys “repeatedly urged measures that constituted quirks.”
Sassoon wrote that the mayor’s lawyers showed that Adams could only help the Trump administration meet its sweeping immigration enforcement agenda in New York City “if dismissed,” Sassoon wrote.
“Mr. Bouf warned my team members that she took notes at the meeting and instructed the collection of these notes in the conclusions of the meeting,” she wrote.
Bove accepted Sassoon’s resignation in a stern letter Thursday and transferred Adams’ case to the main Justice Department. Bondy said she expects Adams’ case to be dismissed on Friday.

“These are mainly people from the previous administration,” he told the Oval Office reporter. “So they won’t be there anyway. They’ll all disappear or be fired.”
Five other senior Justice Department officials in Washington, D.C. resigned Bove’s dismissal order Thursday.
