mayor of new york Eric Adams arrive Manhattan Federal Court He was arraigned Friday morning on criminal charges of accepting illegal campaign contributions and undisclosed luxury travel gifts while providing benefits to the Turkish government and Turkish businessmen.
Adams, 64, was charged with five counts indictment Unsealed Thursday, the charges include conspiracy, bribery, wire fraud and soliciting campaign contributions from foreigners.

Adams is scheduled to appear before a magistrate judge at noon ET and is expected to enter a not guilty plea.
District Court Judge Dale Hoe has scheduled a preliminary conference in Adams’ case for Oct. 2, denying a request from the mayor’s attorney to hold the arraignment and conference in one day.
