DOJ releases report on Trump’s attempts to overturn 2020 election | Real Time Headlines

Smith’s case faced legal hurdles even before Trump’s victory. The proceedings were paused for months as Trump insisted he could not be prosecuted for official actions he took as president.

The U.S. Supreme Court’s conservative majority largely sided with him, granting the former president broad immunity from criminal prosecution.
