disney is raising prices on its streaming platform.
Starting in mid-October, most plans for Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ will increase by $1 to $2 per month, according to a press release Tuesday. The most expensive Hulu package, which includes live TV, will cost $6 more per month.
The basic and premium versions of Disney+ are priced at $9.99 and $15.99 respectively. Hulu with ads costs $9.99 per month, and Hulu without ads costs $18.99 per month. ESPN+ includes ads and is $11.99 per month.
The price hikes come as Disney continues to push its customers to buy bundles to get even bigger bang for their buck.
For some time, Disney has offered a slew of its own services, either Hulu and Disney+, or those two streaming services plus ESPN+. Existing ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu bundles will also increase in price this fall, rising $1 per month to $10.99. The price of the same bundle without ads won’t increase from its current price of $19.99 per month.
Disney also partners with: Warner Bros. Discovery Bundles available, which will include Disney+, Hulu and Max. In July, various companies declare The package is priced at $16.99 with ads and $29.99 with free ads, noting that it’s a “38% savings compared to the price of purchasing the service separately.”
Disney also plans to attract subscribers through ABC News Live and a playlist featuring preschool content that will be available to all subscribers starting Sept. 4, according to a news release Tuesday. The company plans to launch four more curated playlists for premium subscribers.
“Playlists are the latest example of how we provide our subscribers with the best value and experience every time they turn on Disney+,” Alisa Bowen, president of the streaming platform, said in a press release.
Disney reports its fiscal third-quarter earnings before the bell on Wednesday.
