Department of Justice orders to dismiss charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams | Real Time Headlines

Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove has ordered federal prosecutors in New York to revoke The corruption charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams, senior Justice official said Monday night.

The official said the order was against all charges against Adams, and the order to be fired was unbiased, meaning that charges could be filed in the future.

The allegations have not been dismissed and New York federal prosecutors did not immediately respond to requests for comment. A motion filed by prosecutors in the southern region of New York will have to be fired. The judge must also review the dismissal motion.

Adams, a former New York Police Captain, was elected mayor in 2021, charged with bribery, fraud and Other charges in the September indictment. The indictment accused Adams of charging $100,000 worth of free air tickets and luxury hotels in nearly a decade of corruption plans.

Adams pleaded not guilty. He said he was innocent and that the charges were politically motivated and he would fight the charges.

The allegations will be reviewed when confirmed by Trump-appointed U.S. attorneys appointed by Trump said on Monday.

Damian Williams, a Biden lawyer in the southern region of New York, filed a lawsuit against Adams and resigned after President Trump won the 2024 election.

In late January, an Adams lawyer contacted the Justice Department leader to dismiss the criminal case against him, NBC News.
