A lot of Citibank Customers report receiving fraud alerts and difficulties Wednesday to access their account.
As of midday, hundreds of Citibank users had reported issues related to their accounts, according to DownDetector.com, which tracks reports of digital service outages.
The site said the outage began at least 9 a.m. ET.
On social media platform Customers reported receiving fraud alerts, followed by long wait times at banks’ fraud departments. Others said they were unable to access their mobile accounts.
A Citi spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but a bank representative Posted on X Reply to customer: “There are currently no updates. We will contact you as soon as the issue is resolved. No need to continue checking unless you wish.”
Another agent wrote On the platform, “We are currently handling the matter, please try calling again in 1-2 hours.”
Earlier Wednesday, Citigroup report Financial earnings beat analysts’ expectations, with revenue at several business units hitting record highs.
