Broadcom (AVGO) Income Report Q1 2025 | Real Time Headlines

Broadcom Report First quarter earnings On Thursday, that exceeded analyst expectations, and chipmakers provided strong guidance for the quarter. The stock rose 9% in expansion trading.

Compared with LSEG consensus estimates, the company’s approach is:

  • Earnings per share: $1.60, adjusted, expected $1.49
  • income: Expected $14.92 billion vs. $14.61 billion

Broadcom said it expects revenue in the second quarter to be about $14.9 billion, up from the $14.76 billion forecast by Wall Street analysts. Revenue in the last quarter rose 25% from $11.96 billion in the same period last year.

The company said its net income increased to $5.5 billion, or $1.14 per share, from $1.33 billion or 28 cents a share in the same period last year.

Broadcom’s AI business is the center of the company’s recent boom, with its share price exceeding twice last year. The company is one of the major data center infrastructure providers for AI, while working on Google’s custom AI chips and provides vital components for networking with thousands of other chips to develop advanced AI software.

Broadcom said AI revenue in the first quarter was $4.1 billion, a year-on-year increase of 77%. The sales are reportedly part of Broadcom’s semiconductor solutions business, which grew 11% annually to $8.21 billion.

Broadcom CEO Hock Tan said in a statement that the company expects “continued strength in AI semiconductor revenue” and is expected to reach $4.4 billion in the second quarter.

Broadcom said in December that it is developing custom AI chips with three large cloud customers.

Another major part of Broadcom’s revenue comes from its infrastructure software division, which includes the company’s acquisition of VMware’s software in the fourth fiscal quarter of 2023. Broadcom said software sales in the quarter were $6.7 billion, up 47% per year.
