apple Announce New iPhone models Prices on Wednesday are lower than their main iPhone models and are usually released in September.
The new iPhone, called the iPhone 16e, retails for $599 when it starts selling later this month.
The new iPhone 16e has no home button and fingerprint sensor, it uses Apple’s faceid scanner and modern design, including a sensor notch at the top of the screen. It uses Apple’s A18 chip, which is also used in the main iPhone 16 models. The updated processor means that the iPhone 16E can run all the same apps and games that the more expensive iPhone can run. It comes in black and white.
The phone also includes Apple’s first cellular modem, called C1. Over the past few years, iPhones have used Qualcomm modems. It also has a single camera lens, with up to three camera lenses on the state-of-the-art iPhone.
Apple is launching new low-cost iPhones as sales have been mixed in recent quarters and Apple is looking for growth for its most important product categories. In the December quarter, Apple’s overall iPhone sales fell 1% per year. During this period, Apple still sold more than $69 billion in calls.
Low-end iPhones are important to Apple because it can bring new customers into its ecosystem, while new devices support Apple Intelligence, making it Apple’s cheapest new phone with access to features such as image generation and notification summary.
Apple’s current model is the iPhone 16, starting at $799, and the iPhone 16 Pro starts at $999. Until Tuesday’s launch, only the iPhone 16 and iPhone 15 Pro models were the only phones that could access Apple’s smarts.
Apple has released a cheap iPhone model that has perfected the bottom of its lineup since 2016. It was said at the time that the iPhone SE received further updates in 2020 and 2022. Typically, the iPhone SE is older than the latest designs, but Apple updates its components (such as the processor) so that it can receive ongoing software updates.
Once the old iPhone SE is sold out, there will be no new iPhones with fingerprint scanners. It’s also cheaper than the iPhone 16e, at $429.
The launch also marks a new approach to Apple’s famous product launch, which has attracted media attention worldwide. Previously, Apple will showcase new products live and on stage during a speech on the California campus. In 2020, Apple stopped inviting people to publish in real time and began filtering marketing videos on its website and YouTube.
In recent years, Apple has begun quietly launching new products, such as new Macs, through press releases. Announced in September last year. It may be testing how much buzz can be obtained for one of these quieter launches. Last week, Apple CEO Tim Cook released News on social media: “Prepare to meet the latest member of the family.”
