Boras spoke about the difficult decisions Soto and his staff made in finding the best fit. One factor in his decision was his recent performance at Citi Field, where the Mets play.
“Juan Soto’s level of performance at Citi Field is well known to him,” Boras said. “He’s playing at the highest level and guys are going to think about execution. You have to take all of those factors into consideration.”

“When you’re an athlete, you think about everything, but mostly you also think about your day-to-day work and performance,” Boras said. “There’s more to it than the economy.”
Soto said during his introductory press conference that the Mets treated him like family.
“They showed me a lot of love in terms of what they had and how they were going to try to make it comfortable. That was one of the things that impressed me more and how they were going to treat everyone around me and me. family,” Soto said.
