Technical glitches brought down all major Australian airports on Friday, with automated identity and facial recognition kiosks disrupted and causing queues at international terminals, authorities said.

The Australian Border Force (ABF) said in a statement that it had added immigration staff to manually process travelers, adding that “the issue is currently being rectified and the system is slowly returning online.”

However, no flights have been affected at Australia’s busiest Sydney airport, a spokesman said in an email, but added that “queues arriving and departing are longer than usual.”

It’s unclear when operations will return to normal.
