In response to CNBC’s request for comment on Schiff’s statement, the Biden campaign noted that the president had recently made statements in response to similar calls for him to withdraw from the race.
Biden said in one of the statements. “I would not run again if I didn’t absolutely believe that I am the best candidate to defeat Donald Trump in 2024.”
In a separate statement, the president said, “Any weakening of resolve or lack of clarity on the mission ahead will only help Trump and hurt us. Now is the time to come together, move forward as a unified party and defeat Donald Trump.” .
