apple Rival Samsung could launch connected rings by 2026, according to CCS Insight, adding to the US tech giant’s focus on health.
The phone is part of CCS Insight’s annual forecast report, and if it comes to fruition, it will be the Cupertino giant’s first new product Apple Vision Pro Headphones Launched this year.
“Health has become a fundamental pillar of Apple. Apple has adopted a similar strategy with its product suite in an attempt to keep its already sticky customers within its hardware ecosystem. Wood said the ring would add another product to the portfolio.
Unlike other consumer electronics, rings are complicated from a retail perspective because people have different fingers. Samsung has rings in a variety of sizes and colors, and users receive sample size kits before purchasing the ring.
According to Wood, Apple differs from Samsung in that it has a large and stylish physical retail footprint, which will aid any attempt to sell ring products to customers.
“I also think their retail footprint is perfect for it because the rings are such complex products to market,” Wood told CNBC.
Rings are also fashion items. Wood said Apple’s products are still gaining traction in the market.
“Apple is a brand that has a certain amount of honor in being a product that people are proud of. And I think Apple’s beautifully designed ring is probably one of those things that’s almost a status symbol,” Wood said.
