The tech investor said in a letter to employees at venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz that he and his wife, Felicia, have a long-standing friendship with Harris. Axios first reported the letter. A person close to the company confirmed the contents of the letter, who requested anonymity in order to speak freely about the matter.

“I would like to update you on my political activities,” Horowitz wrote. “As I mentioned before, Felicia and I have known Vice President Harris for more than a decade, and she has been a good friend to both of us during that time.”

“Because of our friendship,” Horowitz continued, “Felicia and I will make significant donations to entities supporting Harris Walz’s campaign.”

Andreessen and Horowitz founded their company in 2009 but have yet to make a formal endorsement ahead of the 2024 election. Their financial support for the Trump campaign is due to what they call a better “small tech agenda.”

Andreessen and Horowitz were particularly critical of the Biden administration and its stance on new startups and cryptocurrencies. Horowitz said in his latest letter that he was encouraged by Harris’ trust after speaking with her and her team, but “they have not yet stated what their technology policy is, so the company will not be updating its position in this regard.
