The Senate unanimously passed legislation on Tuesday to strengthen Secret Service protection for presidential candidates, sending the bill to the White House for presidential candidates Joe Biden‘s signature.
Days later, outpouring of bipartisan support emerged House of Representatives The House of Representatives passed the measure, known as the “Enhancing Presidential Security Act,” without any opposition, by a vote of 405 to 0.
The bill would provide the same level of protections to former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris as Biden.
Congress took action the same month Trump was apparently assassinated for a second time.
