Amazon declare On Wednesday, the company raised pay for hourly warehouse workers and added a new employee benefit that gives them a free Prime subscription.
Starting this month, the average starting wage for Amazon’s U.S. frontline workers will increase from about $20.50 an hour to an average of more than $22 an hour, the company said.
Amazon said that starting “early next year,” its Prime subscription service will also become part of its employee benefits plan. The service costs $140 per year, and members can enjoy benefits such as fast shipping and video streaming services.
