2025 Ford Maverick Pickup: New Technology, Hybrid Options | Real Time Headlines

Detroit- Ford The small Maverick pickup truck has been redesigned, adding more technology, new performance and hybrid options to the vehicle.

Updates to the 2025 Ford Maverick include refreshed exterior and interior styling, including a 13.2-inch center touchscreen; an all-wheel-drive hybrid option; and connectivity features such as 5G modem and wireless apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Ford’s entry-level pickup truck has been a surprise for the company since its launch. Launching in 2021. The company’s vehicle sales and production have grown exponentially, with vehicles produced through June this year up 77% compared to the same period in 2023.

“We’ve had unprecedented demand,” John Emmert, general manager of Ford’s North American trucks, told CNBC. “More than halfway through the year, our sales are almost on par with our sales for all of last year.”

The company said Maverick is attracting new customers to the Ford brand, many of whom are buying their first new vehicle. Additionally, Ford says 80 percent of Maverick owners did not own a truck as their previous vehicle.

The 2022 Maverick is quickly gaining attention for its fuel economy of up to 40 miles per gallon and a starting price of about $20,000. This figure increases due to record vehicle prices and the cost of the 2025 Maverick hybrid model rising to $26,295.

Ford Trucks Product Marketing and Brand Manager Todd Eckert believes that for the amount of technology added to a vehicle, and considering the average price of a new car or truck Hovering around $50,000Mavericks is still a good deal.

“It’s still the most affordable pickup truck on the market,” he said. “That’s one of our core things…it’s finding the right balance.”

Ford officials declined to discuss the Maverick’s profitability, but Emmert said that in general, “it’s a business case” when the company decides to add content to the truck.

Maverick is mainly sold to parts of North and South America. Emmert declined to discuss the potential of other markets such as Europe, but said, “If we see an opportunity, we may have discussions.”

In addition to the new hybrid option, the off-road “Tremor” package will now be available as a stand-alone model. The Maverick Tremor features an enhanced, higher-riding suspension and all-wheel-drive system.

Eckert said the most popular Maverick model is the XLT, which currently starts at $26,420. Prices are expected to remain unchanged for the 2025 model year, but new high-end technology and Tremor models should boost Ford Maverick profits.

According to Ford, the average Maverick transaction price is about $32,000.

The Maverick comes with a 2.5-liter hybrid engine, which Ford expects to deliver 191 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque, or a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine rated at 238 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque.

The 2025 Maverick will be available to order on August 1, with deliveries expected to begin in late 2024. Ford Hermosillo Assembly Plant In Mexico.
