China is supporting U.S. President Donald Trump to reach a deal with Russia at a community meeting in South Africa on Thursday to end the war in Ukraine, while U.S. allies are in Ukrainian President Vorodimir Volodymyr Zelenskyy sieges.

The Trump administration said on Tuesday it had agreed to hold more talks with Russia to end the conflict in nearly three years after a 4-1/2 hour meeting in Saudi Arabia.
Russia said the talks were useful but made demands, especially insisting that it would not tolerate membership granted to Ukraine by the NATO coalition.
