Trump expects Chinese Xi Jinping’s visit without timetable | Real Time Headlines

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he expects Chinese President Xi Jinping to visit the United States without giving him a travel schedule.

Trump made remarks to reporters about Air Force One and said the United States and China could reach a new trade deal. Dialogue or interaction between Xi Jinping and Trump is considered crucial to potential easing or delays in trade tariffs.

“Eventually, we will eventually have President Xi Jinping coming to the United States,” Trump said of other leaders visiting the United States.

Xi Jinping last traveled to the United States in November 2023, and held a summit with then-U.S. President Joe Biden during his fifth visit to the country’s Chinese president, which reached an agreement to restore military and military Communication and curb the production of fentanyl.

Trump and Xi Jinping spoke before Trump took office on January 20 and discussed issues including Tiktok, Trade and Taiwan.

Trump told reporters on Wednesday that he is talking to China about Tiktok as the U.S. attempts to promote the sale of popular apps owned by Chinese companies.

Trump said last week that he had spoken with XI since taking office, but did not provide details on the topic of the conversation. The Chinese Foreign Ministry did not directly comment on Trump’s remarks that day, but instead introduced reporters to their “reserved” phone calls before Trump took office.

Washington and Beijing have been in tension over the years in the differences, from trade tariffs and cybersecurity to Tiktok, Taiwan, Hong Kong, human rights, human rights and the origins of Covid-19.

Trump also told reporters that he could reach an agreement with Russia on the war in Ukraine.

“We can reach an agreement with Russia to stop the killings,” Trump said, who thinks the Russians want to see the war end.
