President-elect Trump will declare a national energy emergency after taking office on Monday to lower energy costs, an incoming White House official told reporters.

“The national energy emergency will unleash a variety of different powers that will allow our nation to rebuild quickly, produce more natural resources, create jobs, build prosperity and strengthen our nation’s national security,” the official said.
