While Trump and many of his allies distanced themselves from Plan 2025 on the campaign trail – which includes policy proposals led by the right-leaning think tank The Heritage Foundation and other conservative groups in Republican administrations – many have been associated with the agenda of people appointed to positions in the incoming Trump administration. Among them are border czar Tom Homan, FCC Chairman Brendan Kahl and CIA Director John Ratcliffe.
If he is confirmed by the Senate, Vought will oversee the budgets of executive departments and agencies and the implementation of Trump policies.
Vought previously served as director of the Office of Management during Trump’s first term. He served in this role after serving as deputy director and acting director of the office before being confirmed by the Senate in July 2020.
