Residential Cruise Lines Apartment Villa Vie announced the Tour La Vie program, which offers passengers the opportunity to live on board its ship, Villa Vie Odyssey, for up to four years.
Villa Vie CEO Mikael Petterson told CNBC Make It that the new project was planned ahead of Election Day. While this was not a reaction to the outcome, the timing of the offer was perfect.
He said in an emailed statement: “Although our latest campaign, ‘Tour La Vie’, was prepared before the election results, we feel we have provided the best possible solution for those who want to leave the country for whatever reason. A perfect product.
At the beginning of this month, CNBC reports Fifty-three percent of U.S. millionaires said they would be more likely to leave the United States after the election, no matter who wins, according to a survey by Arton Capital, which advises wealthy people on their immigration plans.
“On board, we may have different political views, but our community is brought together by our passion for exploring the world in a very real way that transcends politics,” Patterson said.

Tour La Vie offers travelers four options:
- One year of escapism, starting at $49,000/year
- 2-year mid-term options, starting at $47,000/year
- 3 years of use anywhere but home, starting at $43,333/year
- Jump in after 4 years, starting at $40,000 per year
The “Skip Forward” journey will visit more than 425 ports in more than 140 countries on seven continents.

After a series of delays, Villa Vie Odyssey has just entered the second month of its 15-year global tour. The cruise line initially offers residents three onboard living options: own villas, rent villas and a flexible program called Endless Horizons.
On-board facilities include a fitness center and spa, business center, three restaurants, five bars and lounges and complimentary alcoholic beverages.
Passengers on Tour La Vie will have the flexibility to pick up the ship at any scheduled port over the next four years, according to a press release shared by CNBC Make It.
According to the itinerary provided on the Villa Vie website, the Odyssey arrived in the Caribbean on November 14 and will remain in the Caribbean until the end of December.
