President-elect Donald Trump announced late Sunday night Tom HomanThe former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement will become his administration’s “border czar.”
“I am pleased to announce that former ICE Director and border control staunch supporter Tom Homan will join the Trump Administration to be responsible for our nation’s borders (“border czar”), including but not limited to the southern border, northern border Border, all maritime and aviation security,” Trump said in the Truth Society post.
“I’ve known Tom for a long time and no one is better at maintaining and controlling our borders,” the post continued. “Similarly, Tom Homan will be responsible for deporting all illegal aliens back to their countries of origin. Congratulations to Tom. I have no doubt he will do an outstanding, long-awaited job.”
Homan is a visiting fellow at the Heritage Foundation, a conservative group. He is a contributor to Project 2025’s book The Leadership Mission.
